The Energy of a Trillion Atomic Bombs in Every Cubic Centimeter of Space

   Thu, February 22, 2007 - 6:16 PM
When physicists calculate the minimum amount of energy a wave can possess, they find that (((every cubic centimeter of empty space contains more energy than the total energy of all the matter in the known universe!))). hmm ok. interesting : )

I interpret the “dark matter” issue as a sign that physicists still haven’t fully figured it out. If empty space contains energy then it’s not really empty, is it... The contemporary theories still need to be refined, as always is the case since the dawn of science...

Umm good point..i think in this context the word "empty" refers to absence of matter and does not refer to vaccum per se.

Everything is made of particles and waves (matter and non-matter). Each wave has an energy level. I guess this statement compares the energy in the waves that constitute matter, with energy in the waves that exist in empty space ?
