We are going to create a “harem” – like atmosphere for this special 3/22 show.

The Dr. Susan Block Institute is thrilled to present the Tenth Annual EROS DAY at Dr. Suzy's Speakeasy in the Soul of Downtown LA, to be held on Saturday night, January 24th 2009.

The theme of EROS DAY X will be the Erotic Obaminaugural Ball, celebrating love, lust and hope for a new era of peace-through-pleasure politics in America and around the world. It arrives at the climax of a week of inaugural balls celebrating the historic election of Barack Hussein Obama to the 44th Presidency of the United States, with an eye towards peace, love, a more open sane attitude toward sexuality, diplomacy, health care, fiscal responsibility, redistribution of wealth, and a nice big load of hot erotic black glamour.

Traditionally, EROS DAY honors Eros, who is a great and powerful God according to classical mythology, and a little penis-shaped planetoid according to modern astronomy, as well as the "Spirit of Eros" - the idea of passionate love and eroticism. The holiday of Eros Day is celebrated annually at this time of year when the planetoid 433 Eros is closest to Earth.

Festivals of Eros, the God of Love and Life, were held in Ancient Greece as far back as 1800 BCE. The modern holiday of Eros Day originated in the mind of Italian filmmaker and classicist Lasse Braun, who introduced it to American sexologist Susan Block who hosted the first communal celebration of Eros Day on January 22, 2000.
