My Testimonials

November 15, 2009
KK I met on Tribe. He is a fabulous pain in the ass. A good man. Big flirt.
Adorable. He is a good friend of mine. I am lucky to have met him.

Says what is on his mind and owns up. Can't get better than that ;-0

I love you. It's that plain and simple. Your path is yours and you own it... always. Even when you seem to be questioning it... you know who, what, when, where, and why you are. That is a truly amazing thing my friend and I am full of gratitude to have been able to cross paths with you.

To many more crossroads where we will meet.

XOXOXOXO

I've never been in the armed forces; never been in a war. But when I run into KK, it feels like how it must feel to run into a brother in arms. We've helped each other through some tight spots. The first time I met Kamikaze was years ago at Dreamtime. Although shorthanded, we had each others' back and managed a fine festival. Been annoying each other ever since.

Well what can I say?

This man has taken a liking to me and I find this to be a good thing.

We spoke on the phone and he's a very nice man.

We nut jobs don't get out much, perhaps we should work on that.

Thanks for being my friend...

Peace

Well KK is kind of like me in a wierd and vague sense.. he doesnt have a bridge to live under, and neither do I. He likes Bob Seger and so do I. He is honest and loving and doesn't like hippies, so we remain sheltered friends. Lovingly Plokk Drainbo Hippy Troll in search of a bridge.

I know as a fact that the effect of Kamikaze Kelly on my life was to give me appreciation of that wonderful thing called 'community'. It's something I took home with me the first time I read KK's blogs, and investigated it to my satisfaction. There's something humble, honest, and open about it that the man expresses every time he sits down to write.

There's good people and bad people in the world. I know in my heart that Kelly is one of the finest individuals that I know. His American Dream proves to me that there are, indeed, still good people today in the US. It ain't just a dream. People who work hard, play hard, live hard, and enjoy the freedoms that allow Burningman to happen.

Despite his assertion that his project is finished, it lives on in the man himself.

Kelly, you friggin' hippy. I know you've never let me down with false promises or assertions. I'm proud, honored, and humbled to call you my friend. You are, sir, an American Dream all your own.

Kamikaze cares enough about the Burn community to troll people online who he sees as violating its principles. For real.

about me
I tend to take things over the top. My sense of humor is...well, let's just say that my favorite line from a movie is from 'Full Metal Jacket' when the FNG asks the Gunner in the door of the Huey "How can you shoot Women and Children?!" drum roll, please..."It's Easy! You just don't lead them as much!!”
If I can make you snort milk out of your nose with my writings, I'm a happy Man.
I'm fiercely protective of me and mine.
When not flying with the Military, I work Counter Culture festivals. Burningman is my favorite. From DPW (lived on the ranch 2002-2003), to a few years as a part of the BRC Airport Management Team, and currently active in Regionals. Wherever I go, I love to work, make new friends, and bum warm beers while blasting 'Cat Scratch Fever' at 7:30 AM to help the Ravers get up and enjoy their day while evicting Hippies and I actually get paid for this shit. I've got the best job on or off the Playa!

Whatever You are for...I'm against!!!

I took my first day of leave today to drive to Springfield. Two reasons. Well...maybe three. I wanted to see my Mom who is getting on in years. Usually a mixed blessing as there are invariably chores involved. Two, the Mechanics who love working on my truck for free and the DPW Beast is overdue some TLC. Three...I need some time off from the USAFR and next weekend is a UTA which means I work 12 days straight.
So...why am I here? Online?? I don't know! I'm not ready to drive 2 1/2 hours to do... read more

A couple of years ago, I bought 'The Stand' to re-read and left it in Kansas City at Pish and Coi's.
A couple of months ago, I pulled it back off their bookshelves as I was out of reading material.
A couple of days ago, I started reading it again for the umpteenth time.
A couple of hours ago, I got in from a much needed visit to Burner friends and flipped on the TV.
The Stand is playing on the Sci Fi (or Psi Fy) channel.
Now...it's not the greatest rendering of Stephen Kings works. I me... read more

I clicked on a friends profile after seeing her Blog about hooping to catch up, see how she is doing.
A photo in her friends list caught my subliminal eye, so I clicked.
I do that. I just mouse over and click sometimes. Don't we all?
It was an old friend I used to interact with here. Not someone I actually knew, but someone I know.
I almost sent a message to 'touch base', but then I remembered...she committed suicide last year.
In the past, I have talked about being depressed, but the wh... read more

Wow! What a stupid silly filter program Facebook has.

I responded to a private email there to someone asking advice on camping at Burningman solo V group.

"I say just go for it. Prepare to be self reliant, and then be amazed by the people you randomly meet where you park.
That's the best way...IMHO."

I had to change the last words to 'IMHO' from 'to me' to pass the FB filter of...wait a minute...look closely at the phrase...somewhere in the nano seconds of hitting 'send' and the res... read more
